A Summer Dream in Lavender: Styled Shoot at BlauSinn Lavendel

If I could bottle up a perfect summer evening, it would look (and smell!) exactly like this session at BlauSinn Lavendel in Grünstadt-Asselheim, Germany. Rows upon rows of vibrant lavender, soft golden light, and a peaceful countryside breeze—it was the kind of shoot that reminded me why I love capturing families in nature.

This styled session was pure magic.

A Location Like No Other

Tucked away between the villages of Albsheim and Krausmühle in the heart of the Pfalz wine region, BlauSinn Lavendel feels like it’s been plucked straight out of Provence. The fields stretch gently over the rolling hills, bordered by vineyards and open skies. You can smell the lavender before you even arrive. Bees buzz lazily around the flowers, butterflies float between the rows—it’s as peaceful as it is picturesque.

The evening we shot was perfect. The sun dipped low, wrapping everything in a warm, golden glow. Lavender fields come alive at sunset. The soft purples become richer, the greens more vivid, and the light just dances on every surface.

Why It’s the Perfect Spot for Your Next Family Session

If you’ve been dreaming of a summer session that feels relaxed, natural, and stunningly beautiful—this is it. Here’s why:

  • Natural Beauty: The lavender blooms from mid-June to early August, creating an ethereal purple sea that photographs like a dream.

  • Peaceful & Private: With advance permission, the fields can feel like your own secret garden. No crowds, just your family and the sounds of nature.

  • Kids Love It: Little ones are fascinated by the bees, the flowers, and the open space to explore. It turns into a playful, curious adventure—one that looks beautiful in photos.

  • Timeless Aesthetic: Lavender fields are effortlessly elegant. Whether you wear soft neutrals, warm pastels, or bold whites, everything just works.

The Styled Shoot

I recently attended a styled shoot with the Gathered Creatives which we had two gorgeous models Nicole and Kassandra that wore flowing fabrics and soft, muted tones that echoed the landscape—linen dresses and straw hats. We kept things simple and natural. There were no stiff poses, just movement, connection, and lots of love.

We played in the lavender, walked hand-in-hand through the rows, and ended with watching the sky turn pink. It was storytelling through sunlight and scent, and every frame felt like summer bottled up in a photograph.

Planning Your Own Lavender Session

If you’re interested in booking a family session at BlauSinn Lavendel, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Best Time: The fields are in bloom from mid-June to late July. Early evening is ideal for soft light and comfortable temperatures.

  • Booking Ahead: This is private farmland, so photo sessions need to be scheduled in advance with permission from the owners. There is a fee to photograph at the property (Don’t worry, I’ll handle that for you!)

  • What to Wear: Soft, flowing clothes in natural tones work beautifully. Think linen, cotton, and fabrics that catch the light and move with the breeze.

  • Keep it Light: A lavender shoot is all about softness and calm. Bring water, light snacks, and an open heart—and I’ll take care of the rest.

BlauSinn isn’t just a beautiful location—it’s a memory waiting to happen. The scent of lavender, the hum of bees, the light that wraps around you like a warm hug... it’s the perfect canvas for capturing your family exactly as you are, in a setting that feels both wild and gentle.

If you’re dreaming of golden hour in a lavender field, let’s make it happen. I’d love to plan a shoot that’s as unforgettable as the place itself.
